Fresno State Football
Golf Cart Driver’s Information

The Buchanan Band program is fortunate to provide adult (21 and older) golf cart drivers at each Fresno State Bulldogs home Football Game.

In exchange for this volunteer service, Fresno State makes a financial contribution to our program.

This is an exclusive opportunity and significant fundraiser, and Buchanan Band parents, families, alumni, and friends have been driving golf carts at Fresno State football games for many years!

What do golf cart drivers do?
Simply put: we are there as a team to help fans—who need some assistance—get to the section of the stadium where their seat is located. Each volunteer drives one of Fresno State’s provided golf carts and offers free rides to fans in need from the time the gates open, until the last fan leaves.

How many drivers do we need?
We provide 15 drivers for each home game. In 2025, there are six home games (not including playoffs), meaning we have 90 driver spots to fill.

How many games can I sign up for?
All of them if you like! Sign-ups are first come, first served.

How do I get to the game?
Let’s carpool! Once you sign up for a game, the lead parent volunteer will be in touch about carpooling. If you are able to carpool, we will meet in the Buchanan Band Parking Lot two hours before each game starts. If you’re not available to carpool, clear instructions and a parking pass will be provided before each game.

What should I wear?
Khaki pants/shorts, a white collared shirt, and shoes you can drive in. A red safety vest, walkie talkie, and game day pass will be provided. As the weather changes, dress in layers. Later in the season, it can quickly turn from very warm to very cold within a single game.

How do I get authorized to drive?
It’s not meant to be, but it could feel complicated. Please call or text our golf cart volunteer lead Cara Giovannoni at (559) 341-2566 if you need any assistance at all. Feel free to call or text Mrs. Giovannoni between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. any day of the week and she will get back to you as soon as possible. We are looking to have as many as are willing complete the driver authorization process as soon as possible.
