Transportation is to be provided by the student & family. We will run 1-2 school buses to/from Buchanan for those students who need it.

• If a student is not riding the bus, the WBA Madera Transportation Form must be completed by the parent/guardian.

• Parents driving their students should plan to arrive at Torres High School by 11:15 AM to allow time to find the rest of the band.

• Carpools are at the discretion of the parent/guardian.

• When students are dismissed from the band truck at approximately 4:30 PM ~ 4:45 PM, they will be released to the adult who transported them to the competition.

Spectator Parking: Spectators can park in nearby marked parking lots in front of Torres HS on Rd 26 or at Desmond Middle School off of Martin St. for free. Spectators may also park in the Torres Stadium Lot off Road 26 for $10, only Cash will be accepted. Appropriately credentialed Handicap Vehicles may park in the Stadium Lot free of charge.
Concessions: Food and drinks will be available for purchase at our snack bars in the stadium. Students can purchase food on the student side of the stadium (East). Cash & Credit Card will be accepted at all Snack Bars.

• Please eat a significant (and healthy!) meal before we depart.

• No soda or energy drinks on the day of the show.

• Please wear your section shirt for the rehearsal.

• Video & Audio Recording is prohibited. Out of respect for fellow audience members and spectators and to protect the rights of the original composers and copyright owners who license their music to the Buchanan Instrumental Music Program and organizations that host events we participate in, the use of audio and video recording technology - including mobile devices and live streaming applications - during a rehearsal or performance setting is strictly prohibited.

• Parents/Guardians: You may take your student home from the competition AFTER truck is loaded and/or the students have been officially dismissed) if:

  • You complete the “Post-Event Release Form”.

  • You check your student out from their bus chaperone IN-PERSON. We will only release students to their own parent/guardian.

• Don’t forget your five S’s - Apollos, Shirt, Shorts, Socks, & Shoes!

• Driving with Parents? YOU take your Apollo!

• Bring clothes to wear after the show, including a jacket if it is cold.

• Dinner and snacks are provided, but you should bring additional (healthy) snacks for the bus trip.
