Important Reminders
No Audio/Video Recording. Out of respect for fellow audience members and spectators as well as copyright laws, please do not video record Buchanan/Alta Sierra Instrumental Music Performances. Thank you for your cooperation.
The concert is free.
Students will need to take their instruments home with them after school on Friday and bring them back to school on Monday after the concert.
Seniors: Bring your posterboards to school by Friday morning. Wind Symphony seniors: Take your posterboards directly Shaghoian Friday morning.
Rehearsals @ Shaghoian
String Orchestra: Thursday, May 15th during normal 1st Period orchestra class. Report to the BHS Bandroom at 8:30am. Transportation to/from Shaghoian is provided via school bus.
Symphony Orchestra: Thursday, May 15th during 7th Period Chamber Orchestra class. Report to the BHS Bandroom at 1:15pm. Transportation provided to Shaghoian only. Students may drive themselves only; all other students must ride the bus. Students will be dismissed from Shaghoian/Clovis North HS at 3:15pm.
Symphonic Band: Friday, May 16th, during normal 4th-period Symphonic Band class. Bus transportation is provided to and from Shaghoian.
Wind Symphony: Friday, May 16th, during normal 2nd-period Wind Symphony class. Report to Shaghoian/Clovis North HS at 8:00am. Bus transportation provided back to BHS at 10:10am. Students may drive themselves only; all other students must ride the bus.
Students will be excused from all missed classes. Discuss any absences with your director asap.
Concert #1 - Buchanan Orchestras
5:40pm All String Orchestra & Symphony Orchestra members report to Shaghoian. Get instruments tuned & ready. Concert Hall Doors Open.
5:55pm String Orchestra on Stage. Symphony Orchestra seated in the first three (3) rows of the concert hall.
6:00pm Orchestra Concert Begins:
String Orchestra Performance
Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and String Orchestra Ensemble Awards
Symphony Orchestra Performance
Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Chamber Orchestra Ensemble Awards, Overall Orchestra Awards.
7:00pm Orchestra Concert Ends. All orchestra students expected to stay until the end of the senior awards presentation.
Between Concerts & Senior Awards Presentation
7:00pm All Symphonic Band, non-Symphony Orchestra Wind Symphony, and Colorguard members arrive. Do not enter the Concert Hall until the Symphony Orchestra finishes performing.
7:05pm Small Ensemble Performance (TBD). Okay to enter the Concert Hall quietly.
7:15pm Senior Awards Presentation. Please do not enter the Concert Hall during the senior awards presentation.
7:45pm Small Ensemble Performance (TBD). Okay to enter the Concert Hall quietly. Orchestra students dismissed (or you may stay for the band concert).
Concert #2 - Buchanan Bands
7:55pm Symphonic Band on Stage. Wind Symphony is seated in the first three (3) rows of the concert hall.
8:00pm Band Concert Begins

~9:30pm Concert Ends. Clean up stage and take all instruments with you.
Post Concert Pizza & Dance (Optional)
9:30pm~9:45pm Post-Concert Pizza Party & Dance at Me-n-Ed’s (Maple & Behymer). Optional. Students only. Must purchase a ticket for admission.
11:00pm Event ends.
All school-owned instruments must be returned to Buchanan on Monday!
