Meals Not Provided/$$ Needed: Eat before you arrive. A small snack and water will be provided.
Transportation: Transportation is provided to and from the parade. (All students must ride the bus to and from the parade).
Event Details
Parade Location: Old Town Clovis
Parade Begins: 6:30pm
Buchanan Performs: Division 4, Entry 7
Admission: Free
Spectator Parking: Free in the surrounding streets. Several streets will be closed for the parade and parade staging.
Important Reminders
We will return to Buchanan before the parade is over. If you plan to attend the parade, please arrange for other transportation home for your student.
Please eat before you arrive. Only a small snack and water are provided.
Don't forget your 5 S's - Santa Hats, Shirt, Shorts, Socks, & Shoes! Headwear: No Apollos. We will wear Santa Hats. Make sure you have one!
Guard: Jazz Pants, Christmas Sweaters, and Nikes!
It could be quite cold. You are encouraged to wear extra layers (thermals, etc) as long as it is not bulky under the uniform.
All students must ride the bus to and from the event. We are not releasing students to the parents at the parade.
Decorating instruments: You are welcome to decorate your instrument with lights. However: You may use blue painter’s name only (no Scotch tape, masking tape, etc). There should also be no metal on metal that could scratch the instrument.
Itinerary
5:15pm Report to BHS and change into uniform.
5:30pm Load Buses (Same assigned buses as the marching band season)
5:45pm Depart for Parade
6:00pm Arrive in Downtown Clovis. Unload and move to the staging area. Warm Up & Have Snacks/Water
6:30pm Parade Begins
~7:30pm Approximate Division 4 Step Off (Near the end of the parade)
~8:15pm Load and Depart for BHS
~8:45pm Arrive at Buchanan/Change out of uniform.
~9:00pm Dismissed.
Ultimately, we are at the mercy of the parade flow and times after the parade start are subject to change. We will send updates on the BAND app as needed.
