Dessert Auction Information
Silent Dessert Auction Information
’Tis the season for desserts, merriment, and music! This is one of our most beloved and anticipated fundraisers of the year. Please read the information below carefully.
Each Buchanan Instrumental Music student (Band, Colorguard, Orchestra, & Percussion) is responsible for providing one dessert to be auctioned at the concert.
Dessert Guidelines
Homemade or attractive store-bought desserts are encouraged (homemade preferred).
Should serve 8 or more.
Holiday, winter, or music-themed desserts are welcome (not required).
Place desserts on a platter or in a container that will be included with the auction item.
Affordable platters can be found at HomeGoods, Dollar Tree, Target, etc.
Please use clear, non-iridescent cellophane wrap. Clear wrap and ribbon will be available if you need help. Remember: presentation matters. No refrigeration is available, so bring a dessert that can safely sit out all day.
IMPORTANT: Attach a 3"x5" card with the following:
Dessert name
Number of servings
Donating family/student name
Supported Program (Band or Orchestra)
Approximate value ($)
Recipe (optional)
Note if the dessert contains nuts
Need inspiration? Try cakes, pies, cookies, bar cookies, truffles, chocolate-dipped strawberries, pretzels, Rice Krispie treats, edible fruit gift cards, or items from local favorites like Chiffono’s, Eddie’s Bakery, La Boulangerie, or Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Google and Pinterest are also great for holiday and winter dessert ideas.
Thank you for contributing to this fun (and delicious!) event. Be warned…students start campaigning early for their favorites…and Mr. Lack’s famous chocolate chip cookies remain undefeated.
