Competition Site: John Ventura Stadium @ Washington Union H.S., 6041 E. Elm Avenue, Fresno, CA 93706 (See below)
Gates Open: 3:30pm
2024 INFO: Admission: Tickets $15.00 for adults, $10.00 Sr 62+, $10.00 Students K-12, Free for Children Under 5 years

Buchanan Performs: 7:50pm
2024 INFO: Spectator Parking: $5.00 and can be accessed South on ELM, West on LARSEN, and North on CLARA Ave. Handicap parking is free at the Stadium with a placard.
2024 INFO: Concessions: There will be an assortment of great food, drinks, and snacks for participants and spectators. This is a fundraising event, and everyone is encouraged to support the event by purchasing food at the concession stands in the stadium. Cash and card accepted at concessions.
2024 INFO: Airgrams: Airgrams will be sold for $5.00 CASH ONLY. Max of 15 per band
Important Reminders
Please eat a significant (and healthy!) breakfast before you arrive at Buchanan for rehearsal and a healthy lunch after rehearsal. No soda or energy drinks today. Drink lots of water!
Tripods or other similar equipment that may obstruct the view or path of travel of others in seating areas are not allowed.
Video & Audio Recording Prohibited. For the consideration of fellow audience members and in order to protect the rights of composers and copyright owners who license their music to the Buchanan Instrumental Music Program and to our host organizations, the use of any audio or video recording devices—including mobile phones and live-streaming applications—is strictly prohibited during all rehearsals and performances.
Parents/Guardians: You may take your student home from the competition AFTER truck is loaded and/or the students have been officially dismissed) if:
You complete the “Post-Event Release Form”.
You check your student out from their bus chaperone IN-PERSON. We will only release students to their parent/guardian.
Packing List
Don't forget your 5 S's - ApolloS, Shirt, Shorts, Socks, & Shoes!
Bring your water jug FULL of water.
Don't forget anything else you will need for the show!
Itinerary - Saturday, October 11, 2025
7:45am Arrive at Buchanan
8:00am Rehearsal at Buchanan
10:00am Run Through
10:15am Rehearsal Ends/Load the truck.
11:15am Dismissed for the afternoon (based on when truck is loaded). Make sure you eat a good lunch and drink LOTS of water!
• Break •
2:00pm Arrive at BHS. Full Band Meeting in the Bandroom
2:15pm Load Buses (Don't forget your 5 S's!)
2:30pm Leave for Washington Union H.S.
3:15pm Arrive at Washington Union H.S./Unload the Truck/Pit Setup
Keep your belongings lined up with your section and away from the truck.
Do not leave valuables unattended.
Do not play instruments in the parking lot
Make sure you are completely ready for the show!
4:00pm Walk to the stadium by section in twos with your water.
4:15pm Watch Dos Palos H.S.
4:30pm Watch Central H.S.
5:00pm Dinner (Provided)
5:35pm Change into uniform/Section Time
5:55pm Ready to walk to Warm Up (Lined Up in 2’s). Take water jugs.
6:05pm Percussion Warm Up
6:15pm Hornline/Guard Warm Up
6:30pm Percussion Ensemble
6:45pm Horns/Guard to Full Ensemble
6:50pm Full Ensemble - Location TBA/Center of Campus. (Pit parent crew meets at this time.)
7:05pm Pit leaves for gate/Drumline Sectionals/Horns: Visual Warm Up.
7:20pm Battery, Guard, Horns: Walk to the Gate
7:35pm At Gate
7:50pm Buchanan HS Marching Band Performance
8:05pm Take everything back to the truck. Change out of uniform. Snack (Provided).
Pit and Props Loaders: Snack, then load.
Drumline: Load drumline equipment before snack
Everyone Else: Snack AFTER you are completely changed and everything is loaded.
8:40pm Awards (Drum Majors Only)
9:30pm Load Buses & Depart for BHS
10:15pm Arrive at BHS/Dismissed
